Hey everyone! Guess what I just stumbled upon? A video spilling the tea on why Paige was MIA in the "Young Sheldon" finale, and I HAD to share it with you all!
The video dives into the behind-the-scenes reasons McKenna Grace, who played Paige, couldn't make it for the final episodes. Apparently, it wasn't as simple as just wanting to! As one commenter pointed out: "They basically said they would have liked to include Paige in the last shows but she had commitments elsewhere and they couldn't do it.
" It seems scheduling conflicts played a major role. Plus, as the video highlights, Paige's character arc was always a bit of a wild card. Someone else mentioned: "There was no way for them to predict what would have happened to Paige in the next half dozen to a dozen years." Which makes sense, right?
While some fans feel her absence left a void, like one person said, "Her closure wasn't satisfying," others are still holding out hope for a cameo in "Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage" or even a future "Big Bang Theory" revival. And let’s be real, the actress McKenna Grace is getting more and more famous.
As one commenter said:"the real reason they didn’t show paige is cus the actress got really famous and it got too pricey for the production team to keep casting her as a side character, also she’s working on some bigger roles rn im pretty sure she’s starring as one of the main characters in the new ghostbusters" So I think we should expect that.
I think it's sad she didn't get more of a proper goodbye, but I also appreciate the show acknowledging her existence. What are your thoughts on Paige's ending? Do you think we'll ever see her again in the "Young Sheldon" universe? Watch the full video to get all the juicy details and let me know your theories in the comments below!
User1. I was glad they mentioned what the guy from the show said.
User2. He basically said they would have liked to include Paige in the last shows but she had commitments elsewhere and they couldn't do it.
User3. When the show was ongoing - they could find a time when McKenna was available - and they could do a segment with her - but - the last shows - were the last shows - there was no time but then to do anything and she wasn't available.
User4. The problem with them saying anything about her - was that Paige was not in a state where anything could have been settled.
User5. There was no way for them to predict what would have happened to Paige in the next half dozen to a dozen years.
User6. Any number of things could have happened to her.
User7. Because of that - there wasn't enough time for them to go into it.
User8. There was no way for them to bring greater closure to Paige's story in the time available.
User9. I suppose there could be a chance to do something with Paige in the Georgie and Mandy show - but - that's not going to last very long so I wouldn't expect there'd be time for that.
User10. At least she was mentioned though, they acted like Paige never existed which is weird considering she had arcs with both Sheldon and Missy.
